It’s an exciting time for football in the “A”!
Ever since the announcement on April 4th 2014, Atlanta has been buzzing about Atlanta United FC. Not only are we getting our very own MLS franchise, but Atlanta United will be playing in a brand new state-of-the-art stadium. Although we will have to cheer on United from Bobby Dodd Stadium for the first few games (as if we haven’t waited long enough), the thought of the boys running out onto the pitch in Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the first time gives me major goose bumps.
We’ve already made some great signings, and our man Arthur Blank seems to be committed to hitting the ground running with more to come. The supporters groups are building up a full head of steam and, with over 22,000 season tickets sold; it looks like “The Benzo” will be rockin’ once it opens in 2017. I can just imagine the supporters’ roar after a Héctor Villalba 35 yard rocket echoing downtown.
On the theme of excitement I am happy to announce the opening of Hudson FC and the beginning of the Hudson FC footy blog. Hudson FC will be an international sports pub with a focus on the beautiful game. And the blog will serve as a way to further grow the culture. As a company we want to build more than just a soccer bar. Hudson FC will reflect the passion of football fans by creating an environment that adds fuel to the fire of true supporters. Opening in the heart of Brookhaven, FC will be located in an accessible and cool neighborhood. It’ll be a top destination for any match with great food, great beer, and football on all the time on a TON of TVs. Our goal is to create a stadium-like atmosphere for all major matches and place where you can be sure to find that Monday afternoon EPL match that nobody else is showing. Along with the pub, the FC blog will be a place for supporters to stay up to date with everything happening in the world of football both locally and at the international level and interact with the pub’s management. We’ll recap news after busy football weekends, talk transfers, and even banter about ugly third kits from cup matches.
I look forward to keeping you posted with all the footy action and hearing from fellow lovers of the game. Stay tuned and make sure that you like us on Facebook to stay in the loop with everything Hudson FC!
